Guernsey Charcoal Flowered designed by Brenda Riddle for Moda Fabrics
A little bit of the English countryside and a little bit of the French countryside - both were my inspirations for this collection. England with a French influence brings Guernsey to mind, an island in the English Channel between England and France. Known for beautiful landscapes, flower-filled windows boxes and charming villages. I was smitten with the island and it's history after seeing a travel documentary. Then after reading - and re-reading several times - the wonderful book, "the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society". I have to admit that I fell a bit in love with all of it.
My Guernsey collection is filled with classic florals, paisleys, and a charming little vintage-inspired graphic plaid. The color palette has a bit of a french influence with the charcoal black, soft pinks and yellows. The leafy green and clear blue remind me of England. I hope my Guernsey collection inspires you to create an island of wonderful projects to surround you and those you love.75.00
